This
Sydney institution celebrated its 20th anniversary with an extravaganza
event in celebration of the festive spirit. This years show
was enjoyed by a live audience of over 100,000 and a television
audience of over 2,000,000 and was the biggest and best yet with
a star-studded line up of Australian performers from theatre,
opera, television and the music industry, a super magical Disney
extravaganza, and of course, the star of the show, Santa Claus.
|
| For
the first time in the event's history, the Disney Fantasia
segment featured a laser, light and pyrotechnic spectacular. With
Mickey Mouse as the wizard controlling (2) 40W YAG lasers,
a 10W Argon laser, pyrotechnics from (3) city buildings and (5)
towers within the Domain, a lighting rig with more intelligent lights
than ever before the audience was treated to a interactive
masterpiece that was spellbinding and awe inspiring. |

|
The
YAG Lasers were positioned either side of the stage and projected
beams, sheets and waves out over the audience and the 10W Argon
located on the main front of house tower projected graphic images
onto the canopy covering the stage.
|
| As
timing was critical special technology was employed, so that Mickey
Mouse could appear to control the lasers on demand. |

The
Light Design Australia team says thanks to Michael McKay, ActiveTV
and all the sponsors for making this a truly remarkable event.
